Welcome to the Philadelphia Urban Panel (PUP), a research project based at the University of Pennsylvania. PUP brings together a group of Philadelphia residents who share their perspectives on issues that affect our city — from neighborhood life and public services to health, education, and community well-being.

Who we are
PUP is run by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania. The project has been reviewed and approved by Penn’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), which oversees the ethical conduct of research involving people.
What participation involves
Panel members are invited to complete short online surveys from time to time. You decide whether to participate in each one. Members receive incentives for joining and for completing surveys.
